Summertime in Harlem usually consists of street fairs, vibrant festivals and children playing in the fire hydrant to cool down during the hot summer days. This is a typical day in a Harlem neighborhood as children are playing in the fire hydrant in front of those beautiful Harlem brownstones!

The New York Times Building - Midtown West, New York City on Flickr.
The New York Times building is a very popular skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan. It houses the famous New York Times Company and the popular Boston Globe. Its steel framed structure echoes a Renzo Piano architecture and in the summer of 2008 three individuals decided to climb the side of the building!

Rockefeller Center’s Christmas Tree and Ice Skating - Midtown West, New York on Flickr.
When winter comes, the Rockefeller Center changes its front entrance, or the Lower Plaza, into a lively ice skating ring overlooked by the sculpture of Prometheus bringing humans fire (even more appreciated when the cold days are here). Taken at night, the multitude of colors bursting from the Christmas tree decorations bring even more life to the picture. It just seems so easy to put on skating shoes on and take a ride next to one of the tallest buildings in New York City.
